The Sydney Children’s Hospital Network is one of Australia’s leading specialist medical centre for paediatric and adolescent medicine and surgery. The Network treats children with conditions including cancer, trauma, HIV/AIDS, congenital abnormalities, disabilities, heart disease and respiratory disorders.
The Network operates on the philosophy of prioritising children’s health and wellbeing, which includes an interlinked corporate and strategic platform to enhance clinical care, pursue ground-breaking research initiatives, invest in education and training of the health workforce and advocate for a healthy future for children in New South Wales and beyond.
The Network is home to the largest integrated children’s cancer service and research centre in the Southern Hemisphere. In 2019/20 a total of 153,027 children were cared for across the Network’s Westmead and Randwick locations, including:
- More than 50,000 inpatient admissions;
- More than 88,000 emergency department presentation;
- Close to one million outpatient service visits.
